With the New Year right around the corner, the lawyers of the Alliance Defense Fund are working fervently to prepare for the ever-growing legal challenges to Our First Liberty – religious freedom.
The battle for marriage will continue to be red-hot, as advocates of homosexual behavior attempt to export same-sex “marriage” to more and more states around country. ADF lawyers are expecting that several states will face legal challenges to their laws limiting marriage to one man and one woman. In addition, Congress can be expected to once again push bills such as the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) and so-called “hate” crimes legislation, both of which could have chilling repercussions for religious freedom. ADF will continue to provide the legal arguments to equip our allies to combat these dangerous efforts.
ADF lawyers also stand ready to defend the right to publicly celebrate Christmas if the ACLU and its allies revive their legal campaign to censor any public acknowledgement of Christ’s birth. Over the past several years, thanks to the efforts of ADF and its allies, the ACLU has backed away from its usual tactics of “fear, intimidation, and disinformation” – tactics that for too long have persuaded too many public officials that they can publicly celebrate anything but Christmas.
None of these legal efforts would be possible without the prayers and support of ADF ministry friends. Please be in faithful prayer for the wisdom, energy, and success of the ADF legal team as they face off with the ACLU and its allies in the many critical legal battles ahead.
